Pre-Race

stretching one on one.jpg

Before the race, our trained rehabilitation specialists use Passive Muscle Activation Techniques to stretch out your body. This is a warm-up technique aimed to release cold, tight muscles. This is a great way to warm-up the muscles and joints prior to running without putting the runner at a risk for injury.

Post- Race

After the race, our rehabilitation specialists use Assisted Full Body Dynamic Stretching. Our rehabilitation specialists perform slow, passive stretches in order to help the runner cool-down, increase range of motion, and feel a general sense of relief.

The taping process is meant to facilitate the body's natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body's range of motion. Kinesio Taping can be very advantageous for runners who may have a previous injury, or someone who is just looking to increase their performance. The tape is non-latex, non-allergenic.

The Winchester Institute’s Community Outreach in Action

“Scheduling speakers for a weekly lecture series for senior citizens is a daunting task. Finding relevant, timely and interesting presentations and speakers for a wide variety of topics can be difficult at best. Recently I came upon The Winchester Institute and I was able to schedule Dr. Michael Suplicki to speak to our seniors on Eating Clean, Green and Organic. Our seniors are very engaged and they love anything cutting edge so I thought this might go over well. The scheduling process was so easy. And Megan, who was on top of the schedule, actually contacted me to confirm 2 weeks before the date.  Every email I sent got a quick response. In fact her service was up there with the best customer service I’ve experienced in scheduling speakers!

Dr. Suplicki’s presentation went over very well with our attendees. Here are some comments made on our survey: “Very good”; “excellent”; ”knowledgeable”; “well prepared”; “energetic/interactive”; and “interesting”. Many listed take-aways from the presentation that they hope to incorporate to increase health. We will definitely be looking to have Dr. Suplicki return!”

- Diana

"Dr. Winchester's talk was wonderful.  Everyone continued to talk the remain of the day about how interesting she kept the subject.  They definitely want to hear the information she has to share again in the future."

- Mary Delong, Arena Eye Surgeons

“Dr. Winchester delivered an impressive and relevant presentation to my staff about keeping ourselves healthy in an environment that requires restricted spaces and postures.  I appreciate that they all left with an understanding of what behaviors often cause their discomfort and what options are available to bring them back to health and comfort.  Thank you, Dr. Winchester.”

“First, thanks to everyone for your assistance in making me feel welcome and supported at The Winchester Institute. The front desk staff members are very pleasant and go out of their way to assist with any scheduling, insurance, and payment issues. Lee is patient and kind, and truly wants to guide clients to better health outcomes. Dr. Mike is a gentle, dedicated professional who has helped me on my journey to wellness. As an active listener and effective communicator, he has addressed my specific medical concerns, thereby decreasing my frequency of migraines and increasing my sense of well-being.”
